Hours: 8am to 8pm Tuesday to Saturday. 8am to 6pm Sunday and Monday.

A nature lover's paradise set amid 2,000 acres of pristine creeks and forest adjacent to the World Heritage Barrington Tops National Park. A place to relax and be at one with nature.

The 4 secluded king spa loft cabins look out into the rainforest where the bellbirds serenade you each morning and there are log fires to keep you cosy in the winters evening providing just the right ambience for that romantic time together. New mini kitchens have just been installed to the loft cabins.

There are 4 fully self contained farm stay cottages sleeping up to 8 people, with balconies looking to the creek.

All cabins and cottages have spa baths, flat screen TVs with Austar, DVDs to borrow, WiFi, telephones, open log fires, polished timber floors, and magnificent red gum bench tops.

Younger guests enjoy feeding the farm animals, chickens, guinea pigs, goats, rabbits and alpacas.

The flood-lit tennis court is always popular, there is a salt water pool, canoe for the lily pond and in the main restaurant area is a full sized pool table.

Spoil yourself and enjoy the organic restaurant, open 7 days for breakfast and Tuesday to Saturday for dinner. Sitting on the verandah enjoying breakfast as the summer sun provides dappled light through the tree ferns is simply the best way to start the day.

Complimentary organic drinks are awaiting your arrival.

This Organic Retreat provides a place of peace and tranquility for those wanting to getaway from it all. There is no noise from planes, trains, cars, and no mobile coverage. There is of course a telephone and WiFi in each cabin or cottage to be able to keep in touch on those important occasions.

The organic restaurant is open for breakfast 7-days, and for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. Sharini's Sri Lankan curries are always a big hit, and all dietary requirements are catered to. John's organic garden provides much of the vegetable produce for the restaurant, and more is sourced from local organic growers.

Guests can play tennis, swim, bushwalk, 4WD (track conditions permitting), or just sit and relax on the balcony with a glass of organic wine while watching the animals come out the play at dusk.

The evenings are cosy in the cabins and cottages with log fires keeping out the winter's chill. The main restaurant area becomes a place of conviviality as guests mingle around the fire and pool table enjoying organic drinks prior to dinner.

For star gazing enthusiasts this is the place to be, no city lights, just a magnificent sky.

Weather permitting John provides 4WD tours of the property ending up at the Dilgry River where a dip to cool off in the cascades is always welcome in summer.

Self drive 4WD is only permitted when the tracks are dry.

John and Sharini are passionate about sustainability and the future of our planet. John is always happy to talk about his garden, the soil and the worms that live in the soil. Fascinating listening for all ages.

Our nearest town is Gloucester, if driving from the south drive through to the end of the main street and turn left at the roundabout towards Barrington.

If you are coming from the north down the Pacific Highway, follow signs to Gloucester, and then the road towards Barrington.

The Tops Organic Retreat is 42km from Gloucester. Go through Barrington and over a single lane bridge. At the first major intersection after the bridge continue straight ahead for The Tops Organic Retreat. You will then be on Scone Road (do not take the right turn to Nowendoc/Walcha).

If you are travelling from the Armidale /Walcha area, drive down Thunderbolts Way to the 'T' junction and make a right hand turn to Scone, do not turn left to Gloucester.

In Copeland (15.6 km) the road forks - keep to the right, continuing uphill along the Scone Road.

The only other turn (Rawdon Vale @32km) is clearly marked to turn right to The Tops Organic Retreat. Continuing along the Scone Road and just before you pass Mud Hut Road on the right (@ 34km), the road becomes gravel, however, it is regularly graded and suitable for two-wheel drive vehicles.

The turn off to The Tops Organic Retreat (Jems Creek Road) is clearly signed and it is 4km from the main road to Reception of the Retreat.

If you are driving from the Musswellbrook / Scone area travelling north stay on New England Highway and turn off at Scone to Moonan Flat and Gloucester. This road takes you up over the Barrington Tops and part of it is a gravel road; from Moonan Flat to Jems Creek Road is 57 kms, drive safely.
