Riding and teaching since 1999 our experience shows. We have taught thousands of students over the past years and enjoy seeing the majority of those out on the water today. Our Exclusive Location West Oz has one of the most exclusive kiteboarding areas in the world. We are the only holder of a permit to teach kiteboarding in the beautiful Safety Bay and Shoalwater Marine Park. Crystal clear waters, cross shore breezes, no boats or obstacles, shallow sandbars and surrounding islands which provide chop protected water allows our students the ability to tap into this location in any wind direction. Our Instructors West Oz Kiteboarding is accredited through KA (Kiteboarding Australia) and IKO (International Kiteboard Organisation). This accreditation provides you with a certification card so that you can hire gear or continue lessons all around the world, and you can trust that your instructor is fully qualified and experienced to very strict standards (and have met our high expectations also). Our instructors are the reason so many people speak highly of West Oz Kiteboarding. When you arrive for your kiteboarding lessons you will find the friendliest, most patient and professional people you will ever work with in an instructional environment. About Us Personally West Oz is a small business providing a personal touch with owner, Jason Lewis, being devoted to kiteboarding since 1999, he is always available for advice on gear. All of our Instructors have been hand picked to fit in with our high expectations as your good experience is what is important to us. The other half of the business is Sonya who is ready to respond to your email or take your phone call with any enquiries about our lessons, hire, camps or accommodation.

West Oz Kiteboarding eats, sleeps & breathes kite surfing!!!!

We run an IKO and KA accredited kitesurfing school in Shoalwater (Safety Bay, Perth) and travel the coast of Western Australia promoting kite boarding with lessons and demos on new gear.

Our Instructors are all highly qualified and have extensive windsurfing, wakeboarding and kitesurfing experience.

We sell a full range of new and second hand kite equipment both in our Perth showroom and online throughout Australia including Ozone, Liquid Force, Wainman, Blade, Axis and Tona.

We have Stand Up Paddleboards available for hire daily and also run lessons and tours of Seal Island.(October to March).

Accommodation is available in Safety Bay on a nightly/weekly or long term basis- please email us to book.

We do kite hire for $120/day (long term discounts available).

Packages Available:

Have a Taste 1hr Session - $100 per person
Feel the power as you learn to control a power kite, just enough to get the tastebuds tingling

Ground Control 2.5hr session - $225 per person
Learn kite safety, wind effects, kite control, launching and landing

Water Time 2hr session - $240 per person
Get your first real taste of kiteboarding from body dragging to getting the board under your feet

Board Ride 2hr session - $240 per person
Focuses on board skills to give you more control and a better ride

Getting Lit 2hr session - $240 per person
You are up and riding but need to improve your stance, switching direction and riding upward

The Ultimate 6.5hr session - $590 per person
2.5hr on first day and then 2x2 hours for the complete kiteboard experience

Zero to Hero 12hrs session - $990 per person
4 sessions of 3 hours, we'll have you flying through the air in no time

West Oz Kiteboarding is based in Safety Bay, approximately 45 minutes south of Perth. Access via car off the freeway onto Safety Bay Road and follow this all the way to the Safety Bay Yacht Club. If coming via transport catch the train to Rockingham Station and then the 551 bus to the Safety Bay IGA shopping centre and its a 2 minute walk to us from there.
