Built in 1877 to exacting standards, The Residence has stood proud in the center of Bendigo for over 140 years. Originally the Deanery for the neighbouring school hall and referred to as ‘The Masters Residence’, 12 MacKenzie Street is a two storey red brick gothic revival style family home. Accommodating groups of 10–12 persons we ensure your comfort is our top priority. Guests are personally greeted on arrival by our experienced Property Manager who has an extensive knowledge of the Bendigo area and can help you decide how and where to spend your time in town!

When you stay at The Residence, you have the whole house; with your option of up to five bedrooms.

For those in town for business, there is Wi-Fi throughout but also a separate study with desk and printer.

For those looking for a get-away with family or friends, The Residence is all about convenience. Step out the door, cross the road and find yourself at Bendigo's famed art gallery. With cafes, coffee shops and restaurants just outside, a full service entertainer's kitchen or an outside BBQ, the choices for dinner or lunch are boundless. Kids can entertain themselves in the rumpus room, far away from where the adults are relaxing in the formal lounge or sun-room.

Directions

Located right in the heart of Bendigo, from the Fountain head up View Street and take the first left into Mackenzie Street. The Residence is located on the right at number 12.

Cancellation Policy

The Residence at MacKenzie Quarters - Standard Terms and Conditions of Temporary Accommodation
Note: Variances can be agreed on but only by arrangement with the owner in writing.

Deposit of 50% non refundable is required to secure the booking. Payment of the rental deposit constitutes the clients acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Balance of the rental amount must be received in full 1 month prior to occupancy. If not the owner has the right to cancel the booking and attempt to re let it.

The owners will make every effort to ensure the property is available as booked. However the owners reserve the right to make alterations to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances.

To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following conditions.

Number of guests should not exceed the number stated on the Confirmation Notice or subsequently agreed in writing or email. Fees will apply for excess guests. The Owner reserves the right to refuse to allow an increase in the number stated on the Confirmation Notice.

Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning garbage removal wear and tear repairs etc. Use contrary to this may result in loss of your bond and/or additional payments which may be levied to you at full cost incurred.

Damage Breakages Theft and Loss are the tenants responsibility during their stay.

Departure - the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival. Check-out time is 10:00 by the latest to allow time to prepare property for next guests.

Disturbance to our neighbours including excessive noise is prohibited and may result in termination of rental and loss of the total booking amount or bond.

At check-in the guest will provide proof of identity in the form of either a current Passport or licence. The guest will also provide a current and valid credit card. The owner shall take a copy of such documents.

A Bond is taken with a credit card reading at your time of arrival and proof of identity (Licence or Passport) provided. It is designed to cover any additional costs incurred including but not limited to any breakage damage or excess cleaning requirements extra guests beyond those declared ..etc. The credit card information and copy of identity will be destroyed after your departure subject to the above conditions being met.

All linen is supplied.

Pets are not allowed unless specific arrangements have been made in writing with the owner.

Loss - the owners take no responsibility for the guest's personal property or any other person property brought on the property.
